June 2006 Minutes and July 2006 Preview

Dear Spoon River Chapter Members and Friends,
 
Another month has flown past and it's almost time for our July training day.
 
TRAINING DAY:  Saturday, July 22, 2006, the scheduled starting time is 8:00 AM however, Terry Postin said he will be there at 7:00 AM if you want to arrive and start early.  LOCATION:  Gobblers Knob, 26471 E State Highway 9, Canton, IL (309) 647-3641

JUNE, HANDLER CLINIC:  Our June Chapter activity was the Handler Clinic on the 24th and 25th at Gobblers Knob.  Attendance was low.  I believe there were 10 paid class members.  We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the members who volunteered their time to help and those who paid thier $85.00 to attend.  An extra special Thank You goes to Denise and Terry Posting for coordinating the clinic and handling the details. 
 
FALL TEST:      Speaking of volunteers . . . here is your chance to help the Chapter!
The fall test is scheduled for September 30 and October 1.  At this time, the test is full and a waiting list has been started.  Denise is arranging volunteers NOW so we are not scrambling at the last second.  We need Field Marshals, Gunners, Bird Planters, Equipment Handlers, Duck Throwers, etc.  This is an IMPORTANT event and the Chapter is rated on how well it is run.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE support YOUR Chapter and help out.  Contact Test Secretary, Denise Postin at 309-549-0112.
 
NOTE:  Hope your summer is going well and we see all of you on Saturday.  Be sure to bring plenty of water for your dog and yourself.  Take extra care with your dog to protect against over-heating and watch for changes in behavior or appearance.  Here are a couple of sites for you to check out.
